From Mark B. A. Cappetta in San Mateo, California:

Your revamped website is quite elegant and fitting for such a glorious Anglo-Catholic parish!

I attended Ascension Parochial School in the early 1960s from second to sixth grade. I served practically every weekday Mass at the high altar for both Fr. Orrick and Fr. Serfling, amongst other wonderful priests and bishops. Fr. Orrick taught me the fine tunings of how to serve both low and solemn high Mass.

My mother and I went to tea and many meals with the Sisters of St. Anne (Sisters Augusta, Gertrude, Mary Eunice) to name but a few. Sr. Augusta and her recorder band still bring many fond memories. Sr. Gertrude the ever-vigilant sacristan taught me countless things about setting up all the Mass vestments, never touching any of the candlesticks without using a cloth, etc. Please extend my love and prayers to Rev. Mother Mary Margaret.

Well, I could go on and on, but I won't. Suffice to say that at the age of 52 I still look back with much fondness in my heart to the good old days at the Ascension!

May Almighty God bless you and Mary Ever-Virgin watch over you!
