Order of St. Anne to celebrate Dedication Festival Oct. 5 with open house

(Sept. 21, 2008) The feast of dedication of the Order of St. Anne is the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, October 2. The Sisters of St. Anne will be celebrating their dedication festival on Sunday, October 5, with an open house and reception at the convent, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. All are invited. You may find it convenient to visit after the 11 a.m. High Mass or before the 3:30 p.m. organ recital and 4 p.m. Evensong and Benediction, or make an afternoon of the celebration.  

Michaelmas brunch to honor Fr. Richard C. Higginbotham

(Sept. 14, 2008) It is with great sadness that I must inform you that on Sunday, September 7, 2008, I accepted Father Higginbotham's resignation as Assistant Priest at Church of the Ascension. His reasons for resigning were outlined in a letter I sent to the Parish Family. They amount to health issues and, since he has retired from his secular job at a university in Chicago, the desire to pursue other opportunities in the Church. A Gala Brunch to honor him and to express our thanks for his wonderful ministry to us all as a priest of the Church in this parish is planned for Sept. 28 following the 11 a.m. Solemn High Mass when we keep the Solemnity of our Patronal Feast of St. Michael. I hope you will be able to attend the luncheon.
