Michaelmas Celebrations
Friday, September 29th
7 p.m. Solemn Mass and Institution of our New Rector

Sunday, October 1
3:30 p.m. Organ Recital
4 p.m.  Solemn Choral Evensong &  Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament

Join us Friday evening, September 29th, the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels, as we celebrate our patronal feast and institute and induct Fr. de la Torre as the 18th Rector of Church of the Ascension. A festive reception will follow the mass. 

Our Michaelmas celebration will continue on October 1. Following our regular Sunday morning schedule, there will be a recital featuring Ascension's Organist, David White followed by a service of Evensong and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament  featuring the Ascension Choir, Benjamin Rivera, Choirmaster.

Division Street Farmer's Market

Bring your beloved pet to the Division Street Farmer's Market to receive a blessing. Please use the contact form if you would like to volunteer to help with this meaningful and fun outreach to the two- and four-legged friends in our neighborhood.

Chicago Marathon Hospitality 
Sunday, October 8
7-10 a.m. 

Come cheer on the 40,000 athletes as they run past Ascension's front doors! We'll offer inspiration and blessings for the marathoners, and refreshments and hospitality for our fellow spectators.   Volunteers welcome.

Open House Chicago --   
Saturday and Sunday, October 14-15
Ascension will once again open its doors to the architecturally curious as part of this city-wide program sponsored by the Chicago Architecture Center. Organist David White will provide 30-minute demonstrations of the organ at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Our listing on the OHC website can be found here. If you would like to volunteer to be a greeter, docent, or help with hospitality, please contact Cynthia Perrizo.
