Baptisms
Baptisms are offered to adult converts to the Christian faith, to adult followers of Christ who have not previously been baptized in any Christian tradition, or to infants or children when one or both parents are able to answer the related questions in the baptismal rite, including: Will you be responsible for seeing that the child you present is brought up in the Christian faith and life? (Book of Common Prayer, page 302.)
Baptisms are normally celebrated on Sundays four times per year, in accordance with the preferred dates indicated in the Book of Common Prayer, and may be arranged on other Sundays for compelling pastoral reasons, such as the availability of grandparents. Emergency Baptisms may be offered by any Christian and will be offered whenever possible by the Rector or other parish clergy upon request. Interested individuals and households are encouraged to view the Rite for Holy Baptism and related information from the Book of Common Prayer.
